To walk est un verbe ayant plusieurs significations. La définition la plus connue est “marcher”, mais ce verbe possède d’autres signification que l’on va découvrir dans ce cours.

1 - TO WALK - MARCHER La première signification et également la plus connue est : marcher

I am walking. Je marche.

2 - SE  PROMENER On peut également traduire “to walk” par : se promener, se balader

I am walking in the park. Je me promène dans le parc. I am going for a walk. Je vais me promener. Wendy is walking her dog. Wendy promène son chien. Howard is taking his dog for a walk. Howard promène son chien. Let’s go for a walk. Allons-nous promener.

3 - ACCOMPAGNER Autre signification de “to walk” est : accompagner

Can I walk you home ? Puis je t’accompagner chez toi? Do you want me to walk you home ? Veux tu que je t’accompagne chez toi? Walk me to the bus station. Accompagne-moi à la station de bus. Lynda is going to walk her mother to the shop. Lynda va accompagner sa mère aux magasins. Let me walk you back home . Laisse-moi te raccompagner chez toi (le fait de rajouter “back” signifie laisse moi te raccompagner). Shall walk with you to the beach ? Je marche avec toi à la plage ? (Dans le sens : “je t’accompagne à la plage?)
